NEWS: 1.3 million to be under “local lockdown”

Mark Drakeford, First Minister of Wales, has just announced that Cardiff, Swansea and Llanelli will enter into local lockdowns from Sunday.

That will mean nearly a half of the population of Wales will be living under tight COVID restrictions.

We at Prydain ask, at what point does a local lockdown cease to be local with the majority of people living around the M4 corridor are quarantined? And how is keeping 350,000 of the capital city’s residents interned within their county boundary going to possibly make everyone more safe?

Local lockdowns have descended into farce but yet again it demonstrates the sheer power of the devolved government in Cardiff Bay. And also their complete incompetence and ineptitude.
